Preparinar: Infectious Disease Control
Special Guests: Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy
How will you fight diseases if the grid goes down?
Just think about it! No hot water, or perhaps no running water at all. No electricity. No more hygiene products on hand because the stores ran out of hand-sanitizer or are not open. Water treatment, sewage containment, electricity and city plumbing are not things over which we have much control. Most of our modern society relies heavily on the current infrastructure of municipal utilities for our daily hygienic care. But what if those structures failed? Even if it was just a short term break-down or perhaps a long term interruption of the ‘creature comforts’ to which we’re accustomed?
What would you do?
Body lice, soars and pestilence were rampant in the 1700-1800’s. Much of the maladies of the day were due to poor hygiene. Could we face that again? Or worse, with new viruses such as Enterovirus D68 & Ebola not having proper hygiene could turn deadly and fast!
Our November Preparinar focused on this important topic how we can Mitigate the difficulties of Infectious Disease. Our special guest and expert presenters for this critical discussion and training were Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy. We are grateful for their help and candid presentation.
Doctor Bones & Nurse Amy shared vital information on medical topics such as…
- Building an off-grid medicine cabinet
- Disposal of human waste
- Disease causing organisms in food
- Water sterilization
- Respiratory hygiene
- Infectious disease mitigation
