PREPARE Magazine July 2013As we reach the mid-summer the heat and growing schedule are in full swing. Those of us who feel called to prepare, face many things that may change during this time of the year. That is why in this issue of PREPARE Magazine we are covering a wide array of topics from money saving ideas to gardening tips.

Perhaps the garden and small livestock are your top priority right now. The featured article of Composting 101 should shed some light on this vital topic.  Gardening for Everybody will inspire even the novice and support the veteran gardener.  And if you’ve considered small livestock, you’ll enjoy Important Reasons to Include Chickens in Your Preparedness Planning to show you more reasons than eggs to consider these fun, feathered friends.

Summer and water seem to go hand in hand.  Either we are using water a great deal due to the heat or we are praying for ample water due to summer draught. Hand-digging Your own Well may be something to help you put your water needs to rest or perhaps you may be hoping to Supplement Your Water Supply Using Rainwater. The truth is there are many places where there is Water Everywhere, it’s just a matter of knowing how to use it and make it last.

Money saving and energy topics reach their peak with the heat of summer.  So we share Some Easy Ways to Save Energy during Summer Months so that you have more expendable income to focus on other preparedness areas.  Alternately, you could hope to go off grid all together and Become More Self-Sufficient with a Wind Energy System.

Each household has a different list of what may take priority for preparedness at any given time.  When it comes to thinking of what to stock up on, you may enjoy the excellent review of a very reasonable glasses source called Zenni Optical or read about Ammunition Stockpiles. These are two vastly different areas of preparedness, but neither is less important than the other.

At PREPARE Magazine we are aware that just as the variety of life requires a shift of focus from time to time – preparedness planning is no different.  It is with this wide array of topics and the assistance of the very versatile and eclectic arrangement of individuals whom we honor on the Thank You Page…that we are assured that preparedness is an area that is far reaching and impacting around the world.
